COVID ENTENDA MAIS SOBRE. PANORAMA GERAL DE CUIDADOS PREVENTIVOS.
Nas últimas décadas, vários novos vírus surgiram como ameaças à saúde humana em todo o mundo. O exemplo mais recente é o novo coronavírus de 2019.
O vírus em si é chamado SARS-CoV-2, e a doença que causa é chamada COVID-19 (abreviação de Coronavirus Disease 2019).
O SARS-CoV-2 chamou a atenção das autoridades de saúde no final de 2019, quando foi identificado como a causa de um pequeno número de casos de pneumonia na cidade de Wuhan, na província de Hubei, China (OMS 2020). Desde então, o COVID-19 se espalhou globalmente e foi declarado uma pandemia pela Organização Mundial da Saúde em 11 de março de 2020 (CDC 2020b; Chappell 2020).
Esse quadro tem demonstrado ser mais uma DOENÇA METABÓLICA do que uma virose voraz. Talvez por esse motivo o PROCESSO INFLAMATÓRIO INTENSO gerado pelo COVID quando afeta pessoas com INFLAMAÇÃO CRÔNICA SILENCIOSA , no geral, é mais intensa e maior chance de complicar.
